In 2008 we hired Remodel Masters to construct a room addition to our home.  We interviewed 3 other contractors and Randy from Remodel Masters for our project.  We ended up choosing Remodel Masters because we felt very comfortable with Randy's experience and reputation in the community and his price was right in the middle.  In addition, he seemed to have more creative ideas as to how our project could be constructed and even made suggestions our architect didn't think of.

After all was said and done, our project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule (which made us extremely happy) and slightly over budget.  We went over  because we couldn't resist some of the extraordinary design additions Randy suggested as the construction progressed.  To be honest, we simply couldn't say no after seeing the beautiful workmanship he and his crew had already completed to all of the areas of our home!  He is an extremely talented individual with simply awesome ideas.

I have already recommended Remodel Masters to several of my friends and neighbors because we have hired other contractors in the past for projects on our home and ended up having issues with all of them except Remodel Masters.  We are so pleased with the way our new Kitchen and Basement room addition turned out, we just want to tell everyone we can about this very special contractor!

I recently purchased a house built in 1952 that had the original cast iron tub, hardware, wall, and floor tile in the bathroom. This remodel was challenging as the existing space was prohibitive. After reviewing several estimates, I contacted Randy Capone at Remodel-Masters. Not only did Randy have the lowest estimate, but he was also confident and reassuring concerning the project. I also viewed his web site and liked his work from previous remodels.

From a design point of view, I appreciated Randy’s creative idea to expand the bathroom size which allowed more room for the walk-in shower, water closet, and vanity. A feature I am absolutely excited about is the glass block window that Randy constructed himself. I am not creative in tile design, but Randy suggested the types of tile to use for wall and floor and the use of a listello that added color and character to the bathroom!

Additionally, Randy developed a schedule and stayed on schedule, working longer hours if necessary. The clean up after this total bath remodel was commendable. I have recommended Randy at Remodel-Masters to several of my friends and I intend to have Randy construct a deck for me in the near future.

I love my new bathroom! I still spend lots of time just standing in there looking at it and admiring Randy's workmanship.

I had a chance to see Randy's work while he was remodeling my friend Joyce's bathroom.  He did a great job for her, and I was anxious to have him do my bathroom as well.  After the first day, when everything has been gutted, you wonder just what have you done.  But day by day you see the space evolve into the room you envisioned...only better.  Problems do arise and Randy is excellent about suggesting possible fixes. Randy has lots of great creative ideas to improve on your vision such as the way he used the listello on the floor and three rows on the wall instead of two.

Randy worked long hours to complete the job in a timely fashion and did a nice job on the clean up.  He does his best to make a stressful situation as painless as possible.  I am happy to recommend Randy to anyone looking for a top quality remodel at a fair price.

Oh yeah, watch out for his sense of humor!

Member Comments:
I looked at 4 other contractors & Randy. Randy brought pictures of his recent work, whereas the others didn't. I liked what I saw & later invited Randy back out again to re-quote, as I wanted to look at potentially doing some of the demo and painting myself in order to reduce costs. Randy was able to work with my budget with us doing some of the minor demo yet he and his crew doing the heavy stuff. The 3/4 bath probably took longer than I had expected, but Randy is a perfectionist and I kept telling myself that I'd rather see him do it right the first time than to rush through something and have me later regret it (plus the tile work was a complex pattern). As a Real Estate Agent in Leawood, I see a lot of remodels that look like quality work & those that don't. Randy's work definitely makes the grade for high end quality & price wise, he's right there in the middle. I have no regrets & will recommend him to my clients and friends which puts my reputation on the line with no worries!

What words of advice would you give other members considering this contractor:

Trustworthy (I trusted Randy w/ my home, as we left for a week on vacation),

Quality (from an Agent's point of view).

In the fall of 2008, my wife and I decided to add a screened-in deck to the back of our house. One day, after seeing a screened-in porch down the street, we knew who was going to build our new addition: Remodel Masters. However, the costs of the screened-in deck was too great for our budget, so we decided to do half now and the other half in the future. Luckily Randy from Remodel Masters was willing to work with us. The result of the project is a beautiful cedar deck that was designed & built by Remodel Masters (and permitted by the city of Leawood) to eventually become a full-screened in porch.

The install wasn't perfect though, early on the crew found some rotted support boards on that corner of the house, so Remodel Masters had to jack up the house and replace the bad pieces. To make matters worse, that portion of the basement was already finished, so Remodel Masters had to tear out some of the drywall wall and ceiling in order to get to the rotten pieces. Again, we're lucky we chose the right contractor, in that Randy is a perfectionist and you cannot even tell anything was done to the walls or ceiling in the basement.

Thanks Randy, we love our beautiful deck!
